With so many on offer these days, it is great to have a name you can trust. This item is certainly that and will be a perfect buy. The distributor have added some great touches and this equals great value.
You can trust this review, i hope you can try to buy this product and then you know this product good or no. Next time you can make a review for another people.
Very good - but uneven - collection, not quite everything you need
(NOTE: I purchased Komplete 7 through Amazon and upgraded to Komplete 8 Ultimate via an upgrade offer direct from Native Instruments, the manufacturer).
So you know my biases: I use several different DAWs for composing and recording my own music, which I would categorize as primarily Electronica/Alternative that includes vocals and real or sampled physical instruments in addition to synths.
Summary: Komplete 8 has a lot of things I need, a lot of nice-to-haves, and nothing that could be categorized purely as useless crap. It is not, however, quite "Komplete" in terms of having all the things I need, and certain components are not very well packaged.
Overall: I recommend "buy," especially if this is your first foray into virtual instruments and effects, but understand that your collection will probably need some filling out. You get a lot of bang for the buck, and as you discover what shortcomings there are (*cough* **guitars** *cough*) you will learn...

Komplete 8 Ultimate Review
I received "Komplete 8 Ultimate" 3-4 days ago and I'm feeling compelled to write this review. There are many reviews of this product, all over the internet, that discuss the fact that the Hard Drive did not/does not work. I owned/operated a Recording Studio for 15 years, professional working musician for twice that long, so, I've had, AT LEAST my fair share of stuff that doesn't work. I know THAT frustration only TOO well. Komplete 8 Ultimate installed perfectly for me. Not a single hiccup. It took me directly to NI's website for authentication, their website sent me links for updates immediately. I did need to contact NI's tech support for "Reaktor", it crashes when I use it in stand-alone mode, but as a plug-in inside Logic Pro 9 it works perfectly, and I think it was partly MY fault. NI's tech support has always been relatively quick for me, and they usually send links to FAQs pages until they can get to your email, a nice/comforting gesture if nothing else.

Hard Drive is defective
There's a lot of talk about problems with the external hard drive. Their technical support seems to be overwhelmed .

The Ultimate Komplete 8 external hard drive is not working.
I already tried on 6 computers (5 PCs on Windows 7 and one Mac Pro on OS Lion).
The HDD light is on, I can hear and feel some spinning inside the fancy silver case, but the hard drive is not showing up in any of my machines.
I even tried to plug its second USB cable for extra power... zero, nada..
When you pay $1000 and they give you the cheapest junk drive that cots only 40$ (I've check the internet and it seems that Native Instruments uses cheap Toshiba link video : [...] )
German quality.. . really ?
Don't buy it - it is totally over priced !
The hard drive will fail in a year or two anyway and to simply copy the installation files to other drive it is not a straight on process.
